授業の目的?内容 ／Course Objectives	This class helps students develop the range of English language skills by applying practical communication strategies to help build on those linguistic skills learned in high school. Overall Objectives 1. To give students maximum opportunities to communicate 2. To build student confidence in interpersonal communication. 3 .To develop the basic study skills needed to successfully carry out their four years of English study at this institution. Lessons will include practice understanding authentic spoken English, plus topic-based guided Pair and Group discussions and report writing.
授業の形式?方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	This class will provide students with plenty of opportunity to practice listening and speaking English. Students will watch short TED Talks, do vocabulary-building tasks, discuss in pairs and small groups. In this semester, we cover Chapters 1-4 of the textbook.
事前?事後学修の内容 ／Before After Study	Students will give four online mini-talks related to the issues covered in the textbook during the semester. They are also expected to watch their classmates' talks and respond to them online. Online materials will also be provided for self-study.
