授業の目的?内容 ／Course Objectives

This one-term, once-a-week required class for first-year students aims to develop students' communication skills and to equip them with the essential language skills required to engage with academic content and with their classmates at university. The course will give students ample opportunities to practice participating in class, contributing to group discussions, and developing their overall communication skills. Overall Objectives 1. to give students experience participating and expressing their ideas in class. 2. to give students experience expressing themselves using content-based materials. 3. to help students understand and communicate effectively about specific academic content 4. to foster collaborative skills through group discussions and conversations. This course focuses on improving students’ "listening" and "speaking," as stated in DP 2. Overall objectives are for them to acquire the basics of "oral receptive skills and productive skills," as stated in the CP.
