授業の目的?内容 ／Course Objectives	This class focuses on developing a range of English language skills (with an emphasis on communication) by applying practical communication strategies to help build on those linguistic skills learned by students in high school. Students will be given maximum opportunities to communicate, to build student confidence in interpersonal communication, and to core study skills needed to successfully carry out English language study at this institution.
授業の形式?方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	Building on the work done in the previous semester, working in pairs or small groups, will research, select, prepare, and then present and lead class discussion in a topic & reading of their choosing. It is the students’ responsibility to prepare for this and to be ready to present on their assigned day. It is the responsibility of the other students to do the assigned reading as well as complete the assigned tasks outside of class so as to be ready to participate in discussing and sharing your opinions inside of class. Students taking this class will need access to, and be familiar with, the use of Manaba. All classes will be held on campus in face to face classroom meetings.
事前?事後学修の内容 ／Before After Study	Instructions and weekly assignments will be given on our course Wiki and collected on Manaba. Students will be required to complete any assigned reading and homework assignments each week before participating in class. These assignments will be due the day before class on Manaba.
