授業の目的?内容 ／Course Objectives	This one term, once a week, required course. Overall Objectives: 1. To give students practical experience in utilizing their own physical message by emphasizing the importance of eye contact, posture, gestures, voice volume, voice inflection, and facial expressions* when giving a presentation and facing an audience. 2. To give students experience in using visual representation within their presentation, with special emphasis on using charts and/ or graphs. 3. To build student confidence in speech communication in large and small contexts. 4. To help students develop a basic knowledge of organizing a speech and developing speech writing skills.
授業の形式?方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	This class endeavors to provide students with the tools to deliver effective presentations with confidence. Students will deliver multiple (individual and group) presentations throughout the term. This course is designed to be very interactive with strong student participation expected throughout the course. Presentation structure will be examined and practiced. Topics will then be introduced/discussed and students will be expected to design presentations based on these themes. By the end of this course, students will be able to deliver well-framed individual presentations and field questions from the audience.
事前?事後学修の内容 ／Before After Study	The students will also be expected to thoroughly review all material covered from the previous classes, such as vocabulary, grammar, and general information, as there are quizzes at the end of each class. Students will also be expected to prepare both personal and group presentations on a variety of different subjects. It is expected that students devote a total of 2 to 4 hours to the preparation of personal presentations, group presentations, and general review.
