授業の目的?内容 ／Course Objectives	This a one-semester, semi-elective course, where the use of film and its analysis is central to the work undertaken in the classroom. Further, there will be opportunities for group discussion, practical workshops and presentations allowing the student to improve self-confidence and team work. Such a course will help sharpen the students listening, critical thinking and comprehension skills. Depending on the students level, English subtitles (or no subtitles) will be used. Overall Objectives: 1. To provide the students with an introduction to a range of film genres 2. To expose the student to a range of International accents, regional dialects, non-verbal communication and colloquial language 3. To enhance the student’s critical thinking through teacher led discussion. この授業は、英語学科DPの2番のうち「聞く」「読む」スキルと、「英語で論理的に思考」する能力の向上を目指しています。また英語学科のCPに掲げているように、「英語を総合的に理解?習得」できるようにすることを目的としています。
授業の形式?方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	The first part of the class - if necessary - will be given over to reviewing and checking previously assigned homework assignments together.  Depending on which week we are in, the next part of the class will be given over to watching the chosen film - being currently studied - or key sections of it.  Depending on the course timing, then you may be required to watch the entire film out of class. The class will finish up with a review of what has been watched and preparation for the following class together. This course is not for student's who have previously taken the same course with me.  Note that the teaching method, material covered, and assessment style may change depending on student progress and other changing circumstances. 事前?事後学修の内容 ／Before After Study	Read handouts & other material shown in class and complete all assignments before beginning of the following class. After class, students are required to do all homework tasks set. Students can expect to spend about 90 minutes per week in preparation
